Kamijima Collective is a network of ventures united by a shared vision: to connect people, places, and ideas with integrity, care, and purpose. What started as a simple guiding service has grown into a dynamic collective spanning bespoke tours, curated retreats, artistic collaborations, and community-driven initiatives.
Built on a foundation of meaningful relationships and deep respect for the land, Kamijima Collective ensures that every experience, project, and collaboration contributes to something greater. Whether you’re exploring Kamijima’s landscapes, immersing yourself in local culture, or collaborating on a creative project, we invite you to experience the essence of the islands firsthand.
Kamijima Collective began with Matt, a Kiwi from New Zealand, and Momo, a native of Japan. In 2018, they moved to the Kamijima Islands, drawn by the allure of island life and a desire to connect with the local community.
Their journey led them to work alongside a local sushi master and the Kamijima Tourism Association, deepening their understanding of the islands. By 2020, they took on the management of the Yuge Sea Station, a vibrant hub linking locals and visitors.
From these roots, Kamijima Tours was born, offering immersive experiences that highlighted the hidden beauty of the islands. As new opportunities emerged, it naturally evolved into Kamijima Collective, expanding into retreats, creative collaborations, and community-driven initiatives.
